Out of the Forest and into a Spooky Tomb (Alora)

It was a very spooky setting indeed. There were all kinds of things in Ado Tomb that would keep the average pokemon away. Just the creepy, dark atmosphere would fend off most, but if that wasn't enough, there were no doubt other things to keep the more adventurous out.

However, looking at the current scene, it would seem as if there was still at least one pokemon who was brave (or stupid) enough to enter the dark, dank depths of the tomb. A blue-furred Aipom lay unconscious in the middle of one of Ado Tomb's many underground chambers. Was this one of the foolish explorers?

Slowly, the Aipom came to, sitting slowly up. Last she remembered, she'd been in the forest with an elderly Buneary, having been knighted by a hive of Combee just minutes before. Now, as Alora slowly became aware of her surroundings, she had that lovely little sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach as she realized that she was not in the forest any more.

"Wha- What just happened?" she muttered to herself, beginning to panic. Thinking for a moment that she was dreaming, Alora pinched her arm, trying to wake herself up. As she did so, she realized that the events of the past day or so seemed more like the kind of stuff that would happen in a dream than this place. Even so, she didn't remember fainting or sitting down to sleep, so why had she just been passed out on the ground in the middle of... In the middle of where? What was this place?

"It doesn't matter what 'here' is..." mumbled Alora, wrapping her arms around herself and glancing around fearfully, "I just wanna get out of here!"

The chamber that Alora was in was eerie and quiet, just like many of the other chambers in the Ado Tomb. There was nothing in the chamber, not even furniture. The very air was still from lack of activity for years and years. That didn't necessarily mean that she was very deep in the Ado Tomb. Very few Pokemon, if any, ever came to the Ado Tomb. Alora could very well be in one of the outer chambers of the tomb, but there was no way of telling for sure. The only clue that had been provided for her was an arrow on the wall in front of her. It was pointing to the right, at an entrance no doubt led into another chamber.

The only problem with that arrow, and where it pointed to was the scary noise that was coming from that room. Bump...Bump...Ping!
It sounded like a metallic object was moving around in the room to the right. Whatever it was, it also sounded like a big, heavy object.
"Oooooohhhooooooooooohhhhhhhh..." Loud, bone chilling moans started to come from the chamber. "Ohhhhhhhhooooohhhhhhoooooo..." The moans were getting more and more frequent. They were also beginning to sound a little pained. Whoever was moaning either needed help...or was a zombie.

Alora looked around the room, and spotted the arrow on the wall. 'Ah! Maybe that was left there for anyone who gets lost...' she thought, leaping at any clue that might eventually lead to her escape from this spooky place. She didn't notice the sound until she had already entered the passage to the other chamber. She skidded to a stop and froze, thoroughly terrified by the sound.

"Wh-who's th-there?" she stammered, hoping that she might at least learn whether the sound's origin was friendly or not.

The room that Alora entered was dimly lit by two torches. The room had an entrance that lead into another room, just like the last one. But before Alora could go into the other room she would notice something rather...interesting. Between the two torches was something big, shiny and golden. Not only that, but it was shaking violently and eventually fell over in front of Alora with a big THUMP. Then she could see that it was a Sarcophagus that was moving around in front of her. "OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOHHHH...." As it turned out, the Sarcophagus was also the source of those strange noises she had been hearing.

The Sarcophagus started to move around with surprising force. It started to spin around, slowly at first. But then it got faster and faster, until is was spinning around faster then the color wheel for Twister. To make matter's worse, the moaning started to pick up again, so that now the Sarcophagus was both spinning and moaning. It was without a doubt the creepiest Sarcophagus to date and nobody, mostly because there wasn't anyone else around, knew when it would stop.

Finally it stopped spinning, jumped, landed with another THUMP and just sat there. For two long minutes, that Sarcophagus didn't move even an inch. Then the lid slowly started to slide off of it. It looked like all that moving around made the lid much easier to get off because it fell over in just seconds. "Ohhhhh..." A Pokemon with his arms outstretched in front of him, sat up. Due to the massive amount of bandages that he was wrapped in, it was impossible to see what Pokemon it was. "I'm...I'm...freeeeeeeeeeee...." The last word was said with a scary growl.

When Alora spotted the sarcophagus, she immediately leaped back into the tunnel she'd come from. Now this place was really starting to creep her out. As the sarcophagus began spinning and moaning, she shrank further and further back away from it. By the time the bandaged pokemon emerged, she was a cowering ball of blue fur that seemed to be attached to the wall of the tunnel. 'Oh, man! I never wanted to be here! Why me?!' Alora thought as she heard the pokemon speak. She decided to just stay where she was and hope it didn't see her.

For a few seconds, the Pokemon didn't say anything. It was almost impossible to tell, but the Pokemon in bandages seemed like he might be dazed. Soon his hands were gripping the sides of the sarcophagus, and he started to pull himself out and onto his feet. Once out, the Pokemon started to stretch his body, resulting in the sound of numerous bones cracking. It would be hard to guess how long he had been laying in there, but there was a good chance that it had been years since he was first put into the so called "eternal" resting place.

But what Pokemon could sleep in a sarcophagus for years, and not die from it? There was always the scary chance that, maybe that wasn't the case. Maybe the Pokemon had been magically brought back to life. If that was true, did Alora have anything to do with it? There were too many potential questions, and not enough time for answers. Now that he was out, it was easy to see that he was bigger then an Aipom. And before poor Alora knew it, the moaning Pokemon started to tear off his bandages. He tore at the bandages with such eagerness, that his true form was revealed in no time.

Standing among the pile of ripped bandages was a Breloom, with all of the normal colors of his species, except a bit more dull, darker shades. Normally Breloom were only around three feet eleven inches, but it was worth noting that this one was at least four foot something, well over the height of his species. He looked around the room and frowned. "Who has released me from my prison?" His voice echoed throughout the small chamber and into the tunnels.

Alora watched, still frozen in fear, as the mummy-pokemon got up. She was relieved to find that it was just a Breloom, although the larger size intimidated her. The Aipom wasn't expecting the Breloom to talk, and nearly jumped out of her skin with a little squeak when he did. Immediately terrified that he would notice her, she clapped her paws to her mouth, simply watching the ancient Breloom with apprehensive terror.

It was too late for Alora to quiet herself down. Breloom heard her little squeak and looked around the room. "Who..." He asked slowly. "Who said that? Are you the one who freed me? Where are you?" When it became clear that he wasn't going to get any answers, Breloom decided take matters into his own hands. "I will find you...I only want to thank you. Come out, come out, where ever you are. I will find you..." He chanted in a low voice. He turned toward one of the tunnels, preparing to leave the room. Whoever freed him probably wasn't in the room anymore.

He just so happened to be right. As soon as he took one step into the tunnel, he saw Alora. "You. Tiny Aipom. Was it you?" He asked, glaring down at her. Normally, one would think that being freed from a sarcophagus would make a Pokemon happy. He had referred to the sarcophagus as a prison not so long ago. But this Breloom was glaring down at Alora, with an unmistakable scowl.

Alora, still frozen in fear, stared up at the Breloom in terror. 'Thank? Yeah...Right. Scowling, that's certainly how you thank someone...' She didn't say it out loud, as the Breloom seemed scary enough already.

"Uh, um... I-I don't think so.... I-I just came in...And I saw you...I didn't do anything..." she stammered, absolutely terrified. She desperately hoped this didn't lead to a battle.

Breloom seemed thoroughly confused by Alora's explanation. "What do you mean?" His voiced boomed. He then cleared his throat and attempted to lower his voice. By now he realized that he was scaring the poor Aipom half to death. "My Sarcophagus spun around, jumped and released me. You must have caused that. " He then looked back at the Sarcophagus and glared at it. "I've been in there for almost five hundred years. Any other Pokemon would have died within a year. Then they would have been mummified and..." He looked back at Alora with a toothy grin. "Well, then you would have found a real mummy." He left out the details on purpose.

It was safe to assume that he was telling her that he was no normal Breloom. As though she couldn't already tell that from his unusual height and slightly different coloring. He walked past Alora and looked down at the end of the tunnel. "How far into the tomb are we?" He asked, though it sounded more like he was demanding an answer.

Alora shrank further back as his voice boomed again, then realized he was trying to speak more quietly. She listened, not wanting to know what he meant by "a real mummy."

"I-- I have no idea..." she mumbled in response to the Breloom's question. "I just kinda woke up down here. No clue how I got here...."

"...What?" This surprised the big Breloom. "The one whom imprisoned me...must be dead by now. But how else would you have gotten into the tomb, if you didn't go in yourself?" He asked Alora, though by now he knew that he wasn't going to be able to get any actual answers out of her. The Breloom walked back over to his sarcophagus and stared at it for a few seconds. Then he growled and slammed his left fist down, right on the center. The sarcophagus shook and then shattered into many shiny, golden chunks.

"I bet you thought I would die by now, didn't you!?" He yelled to no one in particular. "Locking your ruler down here, and leaving him to die! Without so much as the proper preparations for the afterlife...scum, that's all you are!" Breloom turned around and faced Alora. "I am Ahmose. Son of the great Imhotep!" He tried to calm down as he explained this to Alora. "After my father died, I was captured and imprisoned down here by disloyal subjects..." As he said that, a strange look crept on his face. He suddenly seemed confused, and slightly lost. "I come from a line of Breloom that is stronger then most of our species. But only in strength and growth. I know not why I have managed to live this long, or what I am to do now. Surely my kingdom is no more..." He had completely forgotten about how Alora could have gotten down here. He was, understandably, lost in his own confusion.
