| Junkyard A landfill, more or less, of various types of scrap metal, vehicles, robots, and all sorts of futuristic things that (curiously) you probably won't find in new, undamaged form anywhere else in the dimension. It's expansiveness and wastelandishness makes it a very peculiar place. |

{PLOT} Wasteland of a Forgotten Tomorrow
Somewhere in the world, there is a city. A city of monstrous steel skyscrapers that stretch above the horizon for miles. However, these are far from ordinary buildings. These structures consist of the remnants of a strange technology; pieces of metals that the wisest Pokemon in the world would have problems identifying. They appeared to be parts of vehicles, appliances, and things that not a soul in this universe had not even heard of... and every day, the Junkyard seems to grow a few inches, adding in new mysterious fragments of this peculiar civilization.
The only lifeforms in this place are dozens of Magnemite drones, working to stabilize the buildings, move the metal around, and keep everything in check. When asked by civilians, the magnet Pokemon simply answer, "WE ARE MAINTAINING THE JUNKYARD. PLEASE LEAVE US BE." One can't help but wonder if these Steel-type Pokemon are keeping secrets, part of some sort of conspiracy...

Any number of players may join this Plot thread. But remember that each character can only be in one Plot thread at a time, so choose wisely. In this thread, you may have any goal you wish, but ultimately, you are curious as to the origin and meaning of the Junkyard. I probably won't be modding this thread, so if anyone else wishes to, please contact me and I will fill you in on what I have planned.

Re: {PLOT} Wasteland of a Forgotten Tomorrow
A red headband made made a small fwipping noise in the wind as a lone Riolu crept through the city. He had gone off on his own some time ago And his first destination was apparently called "The Junkyard", or at least that's what the Magnemite kept calling it. The area looked like a city, but Ray couldn't feel any life around him besides the Magnemite floating around. There was something odd about this place...
Ray hid behind a pile of scrap as he spied on a lone Magnemite that he had been trailing for a couple hours now. He couldn't explain it but he had felt much more adventurous since he came to this dimension. He had tried to ask the drones about this place, but had got the same answer from each of them "WE ARE MAINTAINING THE JUNKYARD. PLEASE LEAVE US BE." There was something here, and Ray wanted to find out just what was hidden.

Re: {PLOT} Wasteland of a Forgotten Tomorrow
A museum of the future... but it all seems familiar somehow...
Ian wandered through the steel jungle, examining each mound of trash closely and even pecking at a few odd devices. The sight of all the broken up metal was making his subconscious itch like mad, and he just couldn't quite place his talon on it. The Magnemite that hovered around everywhere were no help at all as to the purpose of this place, leaving Ian in silent pondering as he aimlessly explored, hoping to find something that triggered his memory...
Somehow, it all reminded him of back home, where technology was abundant everywhere, and people built cities and skyscrapers and cars and airplanes and appliances and everything else. Almost as if he was staring and pecking at a piece of himself, buried amongst the scrap... and pieces of his friends. Wait a minute... thought Ian, frozen to the spot at the notion. Maybe going to this place had put him on the right track to getting back with his friends? His stomach danced in his gut. He had found a cause. With a sudden determination in his being that he had all but left behind upon arriving at this dimension, he began to delve deeper into the junkyard.

Re: {PLOT} Wasteland of a Forgotten Tomorrow
The Junkyard was an ever-changing place, as metal was piled, moved, searched through, piled again, all done by the Magnemite and the occasional Magneton, who seemed to work as the drones' overseers. But in addition to the seemingly excessive fastidious work the Magnemite did, they were keeping a watchful eye on all visitors to the Junkyard, a place of history and even of the future, filled with things unimaginable to natives of the dimension and devices long since outdated.
And so that was what they were doing now. The Magnemite had no need to communicate in words to each other, they had electromagnetic signals that they could use as effectively as a language. It was one of the things that made these silent sentries some of the most effective; they were taught this new method of communication upon being initiated into the work in the Junkyard. So while they only repeated the same message over and over to other Pokemon, they were able to silently alert others.
But a silent signal was shot up as a flare, when Ray asked a Magnemite what he was doing. And again, and again, though they gave the same answer each time, and if one were to notice, there were more of them around him, seeming to keep a close eye on the Riolu as they set about their work. There was a tensed buzzing in the air, which couldn't be heard by other Pokemon, as the Magnemite made subtle attempts to keep an eye on his movement.
However, the motion of some of the metal scraps alerted another Magnemite, who was a good distance away from the others. This Magnemite had taken to roaming away from the others, and trying to think. So as metal clattered against metal, and hit the ground, she floated over to the source of the disturbance, and found Ian. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING. WE ARE MAINTAINING THE JUNKYARD." She buzzed in a metallic, monotonic voice. She almost wondered why she said it. It was just something that was practically programmed into her, an unspoken command.
