Trei walked into Bluma Village. "So this is where the old man lives?" Trei asked. "So..." Trei started. "Where does he live?" he finished. He looked around, there where many houses around them.

Stan looked around the village. A few things had changed since he had last been here, but the overall layout of the town seemed exactly the same. The streets were pretty quiet. Next to no outdoor stalls on this street at least. Most of the shops the town had were indoors. Aside from a few taller buildings, a few of the small houses were little white domes, mixed in with some long rectangular houses with just enough room on the front porch to fit a family of four comfortably if they wanted to. But the street was pretty quiet apart from a Paras and a Bellsprout sharing an Ice-Cream.

"I'm not entirely sure, but I think I remember it being on the far side of town. Just like old times though. Must be noon. Things always quiet down here around noon. Most people are at home eating with their family. This place is definitely a world away from the rest of civilization, huh?"

"Well then I guess we should keep going." Trei said and started walking toward the other side of town. "huh? Noon already?" Trei asked looking at the sun.

"Yeah," Trei replied when he was asked the question.

"Yeah, stupid quiet town. A kid can get bored out of his mind here. And then next thing you know he just..." Stan stopped himself. For some reason, seeing the place where he used to live was really agitating. "I mean, a kid is safe here. Safe to grow up. Safe to play in the street. The parents can let their kids go downtown on their own without worrying much about them being attacked or something. I bet if you checked most of the doors, they'd all be unlocked. Sure, once in a while a kid goes crazy and graffitis the walls or something, but by the end of the day, everyone knows who did it and the kids already apologized and gotten to work cleaning it off. But thats just it. He won't do that again. He grows up and nothing exciting happens. Then the kid get's to thinking he wants to see the world. Live a little. Then he gets out there and has no idea where he's going." Stan stopped here and chuckled a bit. "And that old man takes advantage of it. The kids want for some excitement. Do you know what that man does? It's the worst thing in the world." Stan didn't wait for an answer, he just kept blazing on the way he'd already been doing. "He gives them hope! He makes them think that they can just leave town one day and have all kinds of excitement. He says, of course, that he can train you to protect yourself along the way, and then he trains you. THAT'S what those kids were doing in the meadow, Trei. They were training on US. I used to actually do that. Then I went out into the world and found out what it was like... to be on the other end of it I mean. There are people out in the world a lot stronger than than us. All trying to get stronger. I had no idea it was wrong. I had no idea how good this town really was." Stan sounded like he could go on forever, but at this time he paused. and looked at Trei. "Anyway, we should probably get going."

Trei listened to Stan's monolouge. “Man, that guy does sound bad. I'm starting to get why you hate this guy so much.) he said. “So, you wanna tell him to stop teaching these things? Well I pesonally wanna se what he really knows about fighting in front of those kids.” Trei pointed out.

"That's just it though. He does know some things about fighting. I don't know how much, but he's good. I'm starting to doubt that we could actually take him on. I was hoping we might just be able to go in there, cause a scene, and leave without too much trouble. If we took him on we would be in big trouble. I mean, especially you. No offence, it's just... well... you don't look all that tough." Stan said hesitantly.

"Yes, he would. I'm starting to think coming here may have been a mis..." Stan tried to say before he was interrupted by someone yelling his name.

Turning around to find the source, he saw a Cherubi on the front porch of one of the long skinny houses. "STAN! IS THAT YOU!" The Cherubi jumped over the raining of the porch with such easem you would have guessed she had arms.

As the Cherubi approached, Stan muttered something about 'not her again' and 'Why here, why now.' But for some reason he still but on his best smirk as she came closer. "Hiya Stanley! Where did you come from? I thought I wouldn't see you forever! I was trying to get together a group of people to help look for ya, but no-one wanted to leave town like they used to, remember? Everyone has put down roots and got pretty settled since you left."

Stan seemed surprized at this. "Really Laurie? No-one else from that club left? I thought for sure at least Chuck or... oh where are my manners? Laurie, this is Trei. Trei, Laurie."

Laurie, not having hands, simply gave a nod. "Nice to meet you. And where are you from? One of the far off lands Stan kept talkin' about going to I'm sure."

Stan stopped for a second. "Actually Laurie, I never bothered to ask where he was from. We met in the field. Where are you from Trei?" Stan said, finally taking an interest in who Trei was.

Trei jumped a few inches off the ground when he heared someone yelling Stans name. He turned at the same time Stan did. Trei didn't know who or what they where talking about, and assumed that the "club" was the group of kids that the "old man" was teaching. When Stan introduced Laurie to him he said a simple "Hello" and almost reached out to do a handshake but then remembered that cherubi's don't have arms.

When he was asked where he was from by both people he didn't know what to call it. "I guess you could call it, 'Dimension number 1'." He said probobly sounding unbelievable. "I was sucked into a portal, and ended up in the Nirocci feild." He continued. "I was origionally a human, but I became a Totodile which I assume I transformed to in the travel between dimensions." He just knew the two pokemon wouldn't believe him, they where in a dimension in which humans didn't even exist!

"A human? Here? I thought that was just a rumor!" Laurie was ovbiously shocked. She had heard about the humans, but she hadn't expected to actually SEE one.

Stan spoke up, also shocked, "No, I never thought they were rumours, but I never thought I'd actually meet one of them."

At that, the two were speechless. They weren't really sure if they should say something, or just move on as though Trei had said he were from Jarkitar or something.

Trei noticed the suprised look on the pokemons faces and started to wonder if he said something he shouldn't have until they started speaking. “Well they aren't just rumorous and your looking at one right now.” he said.

Laurie stared at Trei for a while before changing the subject. "Well why are you here anyway? There's no way you finished exploring all those neat places already, Stan." Laurie said as she stared at Stan with a goofy smirk on her face.

"Actually, I barely made it to the city, Laurie. Then I got into some trouble and I've come back to stop that old man from telling those kids all that stuff about travelling and adventure." Stan said reluctantly.

"You mean Vern? He still does that?" Laurie said, confused. "Stan, I don't think that's possible. Vern..." Laurie looked around as though she was looking for someone else to give the news. "Vern died about a month after you left."

(Vern.) Trei thought he knew that must've been the old man's name. "The man died?" He asked. "How? and what caused those kids to attack us if he is dead?"

Stan shot a dirty look in Treis direction. I thought we agreed not to talk to anyone about that, Trei! Stan wanted to scream, but instead he simply said, "Yeah Trei. What are you talking about? You were attacked by some kids?"

(Huh?) Trei thought. (Why is he acting like it never occured?) Then he remembered the promise he had made, not to tell anyone about it. He had to make up for it fast. "Huh, I guess it was just a dream." He said quickly.

Laurie jumped up excitedly. "Oh I just read the BEST book about interpretting dreams! You should tell me about it." Laurie started rattling off questions about Trei's dream. "So what were these kid's, species wise? What were their names? Where were you in this dream? What attacks did they use? Was this dream in color or black an' white?"

('Interprating dreams'?) Trei thought (great, now I have to come up with something.) He was swarmed with questions before he could reply. "uh... actually there was only one, it was a shroomish." He tried to answer all the questions. "I never found that out" Trei lied when he was asked what the names of them where. "I was just walking with Stan just entering Taika medow." "they only used one attack, Absorb." "the dream was in color." Trei was pretty suprised at how many questions could come from one cherubi.

"Hmm... I see. You most definitely need to eat more seafood. And also avoid any activity in which you might encounter circus clowns." Laurie said after some thought. "Well, I had better get back to work. You guys should swing by sometime today. I mean, Stan, I haven't seen you in forever. I'm sure we have a lot to talk about." Laurie said as she turned to leave.

Stan breathed a sigh of relief as Laurie walked away. "She's crazy, that one. Trust me. You don't know the half of it." Stan said before turing to the task at hand. "So the old man is dead, but those kids were still out there. How is that even possible? Were those kids lieing?"

"uh... okay?" Trei said to the Cherubi as she turned around and walked away. (Phew.) Trei thought. (Now I know why Stan wasn't too happy to see her.). He noticed Stan sigh in relief. "I could tell." Trei said. "Hm..." Trei started thinking. "I guess they where either lieing, didn't know the old man was dead, or mabye someone else took the old mans place?" Trei suggested looking back at the way they came.

"Yeah... either way though, there really isn't a reason for me to go to his house if he's dead now. Even if someone else took his place, I don't know them. What good would it do if I went in to talk to who-knows-who about who-knows-what?" Stan looked down, kicking the dirt around with his feed dejectedly.

"Maybe we should take Laurie up on her offer. Sure she's a little crazy, but at least she can point us in the direction of someplace we can stay tonight, right?" Stan asked Trei, as though he was ashamed to make the decision himself.
