| Hiruko Desert Your typical desert - cacti, sweltering heat, and sand as far as the eye can see. And let's not forget the mirages. Some say that you'll die of insanity before you have the chance to die of dehydration. |

Teasure hunting adventures in the desert!~ (Rizor)
When the trio arrived in the desert Rizor was still giggling from Jared's forgetfulness. For such a smart pokemon he sure had forgotten something pretty obvious. Rizor looked around the vast expanse of sand and heat. He could feel the intense temperature and the fine sand between his toes. As a human it would have been unbearable. But being a sandshrew, Rizor actually felt quite at home in this sweltering environment. He looked around at his two companions excitedly. "Look! Were here already. Thanks to Frank's thinking and Jared's ability we made it here in the blink of an eye!" Rizor was so energetic and enthusiastic that it looked like he could have burst into confetti any second. "So where do we start?" he asked, looking to Jared for a sense of direction.
While waiting for his response Rizor decided to acquaint himself with the desert the best way he knew how. He got down in the sand and began waving his arms and legs back and forth making a sand angel. Rizor really did get pleasure and fun our of the simplest of things. Being easily entertained can be very helpful, especially on long journeys. 'Me and Frank finally have a new purpose for being in this new land. We must have been sent here for a reason and I intend to find out that purpose!' he thought confidently.

Re: Teasure hunting adventures in the desert!~ (Rizor)
"Yeah, great." Frank grumbled, watching as Rizor happily made a little sand angel. "And what did you do to help us get to this wonderful place, huh? You're gonna end up being da dead weight around here ya know!" He continued to grumble while looking around. The Hiruko Desert was just what he expected. Sand as far as the eye could see. There didn't even seem to be many cacti around the part of the desert they were in. And of course, the Sun was high in the sky, meaning that the heat would be at it's most intense for awhile.
Jared sighed, feeling the sting of the heat instantly. He wasn't a desert dweller, like Rizor. And come to think of it, neither was Frank. "Hey, Frank, maybe you should turn into a Sandshrew too. It would make the desert trek easier for you." He suggested. Frank looked over at Jared with a raised eyebrow. 'That's da best idea that annoying Psychic has 'ad all day.' Then he looked over at Rizor. "Piece of cake." With that, Frank's body started to glow and change shape. Frank soon turned into a Sandshrew, though his body was a darker shade of yellow then Rizor's.
'Good. Their appearances are slightly different, but it's enough to tell which is which. I can save my energy for awhile if I don't have to read their minds every once in awhile.' He thought, while taking out a handkerchief and wiping his forehead with it. "We have to go north to find this treasure. We better get walking if we want to cover a lot of ground before we have to stop and rest." He said and started walking.

Re: Teasure hunting adventures in the desert!~ (Rizor)
Rizor was totally enthusiastic about Frank turning into a Sandshrew. "Wow! You make a snazzy Sandshrew Frank!" Rizor said, giving him a friendly elbow. Rizor was happy about Frank being a Sandshrew not only because it would be easier for him to withstand the desert, but also because he didn't feel alone anymore. He hadn't really realized it, but it had been strange for him to be the only Sandshrew around. He knew it was only temporary, but it was good to have someone similar to himself around.
As Jared explained the plan of action Rizor nodded attentively. Rizor refused to be the dead weight of the party. 'If I can't bring benefit to the group with my strength or brains, I will do it with my attitude!' he thought excitedly. "Come on Frank let's go!" Rizor yelled and skipped after Jared. He couldn't wait to see where they were going, and the anticipation was written all over his face.

Re: Teasure hunting adventures in the desert!~ (Rizor)
Frank stared blankly at Rizor. 'Snazzy? Did dat fruitloop just call me "snazzy"?' His mind asked. He knew it was a compliment, and so didn't get angry, but it seemed weird to hear the word "snazzy". "Poor kid...I bet he wasn't popular in school. Definitely not with the "in" crowd." Frank mumbled to himself, watching as Rizor started to run ahead. "Yeah, yeah...run all ya want kid! Glad you think wasting your energy is such a good idea, ya know? Ya won't need any of dat energy stuff in the desert or anything." He yelled after Rizor. Frank seemed like the type of person who had never skipped in his life, so he might not have known how to.
The small group didn't have to walk long before they saw something dull and white sticking out in the sand ahead of them. "What's this...?" Jared walked over to it. An uneasy expression came across his face as he examined the object. "It's a skull. And judging from it's long uh...snout, it might be from a Ponyta, or something..." He told them. "I don't think I teleported us too deep into the desert. I, I mean...I expected to see these things. Just not this soon...anyhow, Fire types don't succumb easily to heat. We need to keep our eyes open for other threats." He added with a frown.
