I have compiled here a list of tips to keep your DN2 experience fresh and fun. This thread isn't important for roleplay, but you may get a lot out of using them:
1. Subscriptions
You can subscribe to any important threads you want to keep track of, such as your characters' threads, mini-games you're hosting or really like, and so on. Just click on "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread you want to subscribe to, and select "Subscribe to this Thread". From there, you can organize the thread into a subscription folder and set the email subscription if any. Then, to check up on your threads, click "Quick Links" at the top of any page, then "Subscribed Threads". You'll see the latest post of each thread. With this method, you'll be able to easily see when a moderator replies to your character, etc.
2. New Posts
To check up on any new posts you haven't read rather than just the threads you're watching, click on "New Posts" at the top of any page. It will show you the new posts you have not read since you last were on, as well as any you missed last time.
3. Be part of the community
All sorts of friendly conversations are going on in the cbox all the time. If you ever want to join in, you're always welcome to! Simply type your name and message in the cbox on the left of all pages, and you'll be chatting with us in seconds. You can also join our live Userplane chatroom, in which we like to hang out and talk about random things. You can even use a microphone or webcam to share with us your voice or face! Playing an active part in our community is an easy way to get your ideas and concerns across directly to the staff members. There's never a penalty for being friendly!
4. Important Threads
The section in the upper left of all pages lists the threads and links that are important to most every user. It is updated every so often, and includes events, promos, new games, announcements, and pretty much everything you'd likely want to hear about. Don't forget to keep an eye on it if you want to be the first to take part in something awesome!
5. Etherpad
Etherpad, one of the links in the Important Threads area, contains threads specifically listed for each individual member on the site. If you're a registered member, chances are there's a few threads under your name for you to post in.
This thread explains the system in more detail.
And that's it so far. Staff, feel free to edit if there's another interesting point you would like to add to this list.
